Important: This is NOT a SASS version of Accredo

Accredo Cloud Hosting provides a fully managed, hosted server environment that allows secure access to your existing Accredo system via web browser or remote desktop.

Additional information

I'm not on the latest version of Accredo, can I still move to Accredo Cloud hosting?

Yes, you can as long as you are on a current monthly update subscription. By default, Accredo and WS will be installed with the latest version, so if you are not currently on the latest version then you have the option to upgrade or we can install the same version onto the new server.

Ideal Amount of users per Tier

Light Tier

1-8 users

Pro Tier

8-15 users

Ultra Tier

Extra Technical Information about the Tiers and server

Domain Controller Setup
  • Light Tier - DC is part of the RDS server.
  • Pro and Ultra Tiers - DC is on a second server (included)
Support on server
  • 24/7 support (after hours support has less staff and possibly a longer response time)
  • Company has no known data breaches and has a good reputation.
  • Server uptime is 99.5%
  • One of the backup methods is also air-gapped.

Moving up a tier

If you want to move up a tier (i.e. from Light to Pro) your current contract will be suspended and a new 12-month contract will be established. There are no other migration costs from Accredo.

Moving down a tier

Please discuss if required. It is likely that you will need to fulfil your existing 12-month contract prior to proceeding.

Is there a demo environment available? (Coming Soon)

There is no self-service demo environment at this stage.

We are looking at demo options for partners, which are likely to be available by invitation and appointment. We will confirm details once this is finalised.

How does email work in the hosted environment?

Emails are composed using the Accredo mailer or Microsoft 365 (web-based) but we recommend the Accredo Mailer. Messages can be sent using either SMTP or Microsoft 365 (web-based), depending on the customer's setup.

Can users print directly to Excel?

Use of Microsoft Excel in a hosted or remote desktop environment requires a valid Microsoft/Office 365 license that allows shared computer activation. An example of plans that support this are Microsoft 365 Business or Premium Office 365 E3.

If Excel is not available on the hosted server, users can still save in Excel format to a file and open in their local copy.

‼️

Microsoft licensing note:

Microsoft licensing should be confirmed with the customer's Microsoft partner or licensing provider

Can we use the windows Outlook application on the server?

Yes, however, the servers specs and pricing provided by Accredo, only account for running Accredo only. Accredo do not recommend running the Outlook windows application on this server. It is best to use Microsoft 365 (web-based).

Is Onedrive allowed on the server?

Yes, the set up for this is allowed.

Is Secure Remote Access required for users?

Yes. Secure Remote Access licences are required to access the hosted environment and are concurrent, similar to Accredo concurrent user licensing.

In most cases, customers should expect to need the same number, or close to the same number, of Secure Remote Access licenses as Accredo users, allowing for users connecting via Web Services (WS) or COM.

Does Secure Print require a physical device?

Yes a physical device will be provided. It should be plug and play although there may be exceptions. It may require your IT to perform firewall configuration.

The Secure Print provides a VPN tunnel between your network and the Accredo hosting provider.

IT Support

You will need to organise your own IT support for any services that fall outside the scope of Accredo hosting.

Browser based access - Can I have access to the server desktop or just the Accredo application?

You can have access to either, this is configured per user.

Full Remote Desktop sessions consume more server resources than published applications and may require a larger server configuration.

ReadyApp can be installed as a desktop application or as a browser extension. If you use the desktop application and you are using Accredo remotely, you may need to set up a VPN to your office.

Note that when using Accredo in the browser, the keyboard shortcuts are affected so you may not be able to use your regular keyboard shortcuts.

Is there any setup involved with SSL Certificates?

Will come pre-configured with an SSL certificate with a domain such as "yourcompanyname.accredocloud". If you want to use a custom domain, there will be additional costs to setup.

Accredo Web Services is pre-installed and includes an SSL certificate with a unique, pre-configured domain name

Will this new environment support our Accredo customisations?

Yes, it should support your typical Accredo customisations, although complex/advanced customisations may need to be evaluated prior to the move.

What is the redundancy plan?

Multi-site enabled with a Data Recovery plan, but we have a resilient setup within the single site should that be an issue.

What is the uptime guarantee?

99.5%

Are there any policies around inactive sessions (i.e. user is disconnected if they haven't used the pc in x amount of time)?

This can be configured in discussions with hosting provider

Can access to the server be granted/revoked or does this need to go through the server hosts?

Yes, their admin account can inactivate local or domain users

Is a VPN for the server provided?

No – but can be accommodated at additional cost.

How does the remote access work? I.e. Is it a VPN connection, then RDP?

Standard is HTML5 (VPN +RDP can be accommodated at an additional cost).
